… has seen "Weird Al" Yankovic in concert 20 times and counting. Perhaps less importantly, he works in Los Angeles as a director and screenwriter.

His latest feature film, The Mirror Game, had its World Premiere in 2022 at Cinequest and is now streaming. His fourth feature film, CHLOE! (working title) is slated for production in 2025.

He is currently writing a new video game alongside his frequent collaborator, Russ Nickel (lead writer of Helldivers 2).

His latest film, en la sala, is an intimate live concert for the Panamanian rock band Making Movies and premiered on PBS in March 2024.

His latest series, Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Tale premiered on YouTube in August 2022 after winning Best Production at Buffer Festival in Toronto.

He is the director of the award-winning films Bear with Us (feature), Down in Flames: the True Story of Tony “Volcano” Valenci (short), Lies I Told My Little Sister (feature), Beyond Belief (short), and The Speed of Time (short), all of which enjoyed successful film festival runs.

Bear with Us, which stars Cheyenne Jackson and Christy Carlson Romano, spent a year garnering awards on the festival circuit before securing distribution with Comedy Dynamics.

For Shipwrecked Comedy, Stribling directed the Streamy-nominated web series “Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party.”

Stribling’s first feature film, Lies I Told My Little Sister, was a “Geena Davis Selection” from her inaugural Bentonville Film Festival and subsequently released on DVD and streaming by ARC Entertainment.

For Adaptive Studios, Stribling co-created and directed a comedy/sci-fi series called Stellar People, starring Rory Albanese (Emmy-winning writer/producer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart). The show will be available online in the near future.

In 2020, Stribling’s sci-fi/action/comedy short film “The Speed of Time” was released on DUST. The film stars John Hennigan (WWE star) and Sean Marquette (ABC’s The Goldbergs).

For the past six years, he has taught screenwriting at Chapman University, ranked as the #4 film school in the US by the Hollywood Reporter.

Stribling is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts with degrees in Film & TV Production and Dramatic Literature. He also has a masters in screenwriting from Chapman University. But he credits any success to the clown camp he attended over the summers as a kid.

Feature Film Screenwriting Workshop - Summer ‘25

Course Description

This 8-week intensive will combine lecture, film analysis, feature film development, and workshop sessions. Writers will pitch and develop a feature film premise, create an outline, and write a first draft of Act One, all in a supportive workshop setting. At the end of this course, writers will have all they need to finish a draft of their feature film.

I designed this workshop to equip writers with the practical skills and experience needed to craft a compelling screenplay. My approach to teaching screenwriting has grown naturally from years of university-level teaching, professional training, and my own work as a screenwriter and director.

Two sections of this course are being made available. One will meet virtually via Zoom. The other will meet in person in Los Angeles.

Price: $400.

Dates:

Virtual Class - Weekly on Mondays, 6pm - 10pm. June 9 through July 28. Location TBD.

In-Person Class - Weekly on Tuesdays, 6pm-10pm. June 10 through July 29.

Both sections have a limited number of seats available, giving writers more one-on-one attention and allowing for more time devoted to each of their screenplays.
